Tastes like cake, but it's also healthy breakfast. Need I say more?

I must admit, I overlooked this TikTok trend for months because I assumed I wouldn't like it. Oats for breakfast isn't very exciting and quite frankly reminds me of being sick and eating purely for nourishment, rather than nourishment AND enjoyment. Safe to say I was wrong and this baked oats is worth the hype. Basically a baked smoothie (plus egg) so you really can't fault the health aspect of it all. Better yet, it's a great blank canvas in terms of recipe ratio for changing it up and making your own version of it. Five ingredients is all you need to make a delicious base and from there on out, it's all up to your creativity.
One thing that stood out is the way this quick cake-like recipe is not rubbery or dry, like a lot of mug cakes I've tried before. Although I haven't tried making it in the microwave, it would work well in an air fryer I'm sure in half the time. It makes for a time-saving quick breakfast that can be meal prepped, just pop them in the freezer and defrost in the microwave - you literally won't be able to tell the difference. I'm also not usually a cup-as-measurement type of recipe writer, but this is one of the easier ones where exact measurements won't break your recipe, just like a pound cake. As long as you're using the same utensil, everything will be okay.
Have a look and see how easy it is to make here:
Recipe:
1/2 cup oats
1/2 cup milk
1/2 banana
1/2 tbsp honey/maple syrup
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp peanut butter
dark chocolate chips
2 tsp cocoa powder (optional if making chocolate)
Method:
Preheat the oven to 180C
Place all the ingredients except the peanut butter and chocolate in a blender until smooth.
If making a 2 flavour one as pictured above, pour half the batter out and add cocoa to the remaining batter in the blender and mix.
Alternate pouring the 2 batters in 2 prepared ramekins and add your peanut butter and chocolate chips.
Bake on 180 degrees for 20 minutes.
